Mark "Iron Horse" Hurst class of 1975

Mark was a four-time city champion. He was a City champ in the 440 yard dash, the high, low and intermediate hurdles. Mark anchored numerous undefeated shuttle hurdle relays during his senior year which set PSAL, NY State and National records. He also anchored the winning PSAL mile relay in the 1975 Milrose Games.  

For the 1974-75 track season he was ranked as the top high hurdler in New York State. In his senior year he was the recipient of the prestigious Iron Horse Award as the outstanding PSAL indoor track athlete of the year.  

After Tech: Mark had a stellar track career at Manhattan college.  He qualified for both the 1976 and 1980 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 400 meter hurdles.  He earned All-East honors three times and won multiple Metropolitan titles.  He was inducted into the Manhattan College Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2016
