George "Wiz" Wisniewski - Class of 1965

George is considered the first super-star of the Z era. He was the first individual City Champion under coach Zarowin. ‘Wiz’ was co-captain of the track team, with Greg Farah, during his senior year. 


 He was indoor and outdoor City Champion in the 2 mile run. Brooklyn XC champion in a record time of 13:16 and 5th place in the National Cross Country Championship in 1964.  


After Tech 

George went on to great success at NYU. He set their indoor mile record and was a member of two relay records all of which still stand. Later he was the head coach of the Central Park Track Club and was inducted into the CPTC Hall of Fame in 2001.
