Douglas Terry Muhammad - Class of 1954

Co-captain of the Track and Field team during his senior year, Doug was a multiple city champion for Tech. He was the anchor leg of the winning 880 yard relay in the 1953 indoor City Champs and an individual Champion in the 440 outdoor city champs in 1954. 


He was a member of the Championship of America Distance Medley Relay at Penn Relays in 1954 running the ½ mile leg. Also at Penn in 54, Doug ran on the 4x880yd relay which finished with a time of 8:15.2, a Tech record at the time.  He also set Tech records in the 220yd (21.8) and the 300yd (33.3).  


After Tech: Doug went on to become the head coach of Boys High where he is tied (with Mr. Z) with 15 PSAL championships. He went on to the head coaching position at Brown University.
